Categorize Transactions

After you've linked your financial accounts, you can categorize the transactions that are imported.

Review and categorized downloaded transactions

  1. From the Accounting Menu, select Bank Transactions.


  1. Select the Account Tile whose transactions you want to categorize
    1. You can see the number of transactions that need to be reviewed in the red circle


Review Transactions

  1. Reviewing transactions individually or multiple by selecting the check box for multiple transactions.
    1. Choose multiple transactions that were already matched to confirm all at once, OR
    2. choose multiple transactions that you want to exclude

  1. For individual transactions, click Review

  1. Your can now choose how to categorize
    1. Create an Expense: Convert transaction to expense

    2. Create Journal Entry: Move credit or debit to another account

    3. Match: Identify transactions that were already entered in Renter Insight (Renter Insight Deposits will be Auto-Matched)

    4. Exclude:  Transactions you do not want to account for - This is commonly used for personal transactions


  1. Undo Categorized Transactions

  2. Click on Categorized
  3. Select the individual transaction to Undo, or select multiple transactions by clicking the check box and then clicking Undo
  4. All transactions will be moved back to For Review

  1. Undo Excluded

  2. Click on Excluded
  3. Select the individual transaction to Undo, or select multiple transactions by clicking the check box and then clicking Undo
  4. All transactions will be moved back to For Review
