Edit Rent Charge & Security Deposits

If you need to edit resident Rent Charges or Security Deposits follow these steps.

Note: If you are increasing rent because of a Lease Renewal, you can adjust the rent when Renewing the Lease.

1. On the left sidebar, select Properties>Residents
   
2. Click on the Resident whose rent or deposit you wish to modify
   

1. Edit Future Monthly Rent Charges
   

2. Click on the Pencil or Rent Amount under Scheduled Billing
   

1. Edit the rent amount, click save
   

2. Note:  This will only change rent charges in the future that haven't been billed yet.
   
3. Past charges must be edited or deleted on the resident ledger.  Learn More
   

1. Edit Security Deposit
   

2. From the Resident Detail Page, select Details
   

1. Click on the pencil under Security Deposit
   

1. Edit Security Deposit & Click Save
   

1. The Security Deposit is Now Updated
   
2. Note:  If you increased the security deposit, the resident ledger will reflect the change in
    the original security deposit charge and the ledger will accurately reflect and additional
   funds due.
